I grew up in the era of Michael Jordan. I have to confess, I was a Bulls fan back then because of him. My passion for the Chicago Bulls went hand in hand with my enthusiasm for radio, to the extent that I would even tune into shortwave radio broadcasts! This passion for radio eventually transitioned into AM radio, and during the nighttime in my part of the Northeastern United States, I could catch radio signals from as far away as Chicago. One of those stations was the powerful 50,000-watt WMVP-AM, which aired the Chicago Bulls games at that time. If the game wasn’t broadcasted on TV, I would battle the static to listen to the live commentary of the games during the regular season on the radio. As Michael Jordan moved on to a different team and I graduated from high school into college, my enthusiasm for basketball began to wane.
